I found this photograph in an album previously owned by Dorothy Ellen Roberts-Purchase.
I believe that it is her father, Richard Roberts Purchase, in about 1875. In 1875, he would have been 20. This is because he looks very similar to the man in this photo, only slightly younger. Furthermore, the photographer indicated on the rear of the photo was M. Blizard, of 52 East St, Taunton. The censuses indicate that Richard Roberts Purchase lived very close to Taunton for most of the first half of his life. | |
