I do not agree with
Kenneth's idea that the lady is Elizabeth Drage Brandford because she was not
the children's great grandmother (besides which, she died in 1857 - maybe he
meant (Bessie) Elizabeth Drage Pate).
However, Emily Drage Pate
was at least Grace's mother, and it makes sense that she is holding her own
child here, rather than her sister's.
It then follows that he has got the names on
this photo the wrong way round.
