Interstellar
I always wanted to do some kind of tribute to low-budget sci-fi. And this is
what resulted. I think it's probably impossible to do this kind of song without
people thinking of David Bowie. Oh well!
I also bought the Rocky Horror Picture Show DVD the week that I recorded this,
which may have inspired some of the vocal inflections too.
In case you were wondering, the drums sound kind of flanged deliberately,
it's not the result of poor mp3 encoding!
The sound of a radio being tuned at the end of the track was supposed to fade
into the next song on the album, but that mix is now lost (except on a cassette
tape I have in my car).
Lyrics
Interstellar space girl
He got your distress call
But now your signal's gone again.
Interstellar space man
Tune your radio wave band
Try to pick her up again.
Interstellar space girl. Interstellar space man.
Interstellar space girl. Interstellar space man.
Interstellar space girl
All alone on your world
Send your beacon up again.
Interstellar space man
Tune your radio wave band
Try to pick her up again.
Interstellar space girl. Interstellar space man.
Interstellar space girl. Interstellar space man.
Interstellar space man
Set your shields and your ray gun
There's aliens on your scanners again.
Interstellar space girl. Interstellar space man.
Interstellar space girl. Interstellar space man.
