His baptism is shown in the Haddenham Public Records as follows:
15th June 1819 (born 16th May) - Robert Son of - Mary & William Pate - abode Haddenham - Farmer - F. Sandford, Curate.
I have a photocopy of his marriage entry in 1849 in Haddenham. It shows
his occupation as a farmer and his father, William Pate, who was also a
farmer.
The witnesses were Mary Ann Pate,
Anna Maria Pate,
Fanny Mary Pate,
John Drage junior,
and Mary Drage Drage.
The 1851 census shows William Pate, a widower aged 70 with his daughters
Mary Ann Pate aged 37,
Anna Maria Pate aged 34,
and Fanny Mary Pate aged 18.
So they all turned out for their brother Robert's wedding, and they all
signed the register sequentially in order of age.
His will was proved on 18/03/1876 at Peterborough by his son, Thomas Drage Pate
(a farmer), and
his daughter (Bessie) Elizabeth Drage Pate (a spinster).
